Funeral set for Friday in death of Chaska boy
Joshua Damptey was a student that everyone looked up to, noted his fifth-grade teacher, Rob Gooding.
The 10-year-old Oak Point Intermediate student died Friday afternoon after collapsing during run club.
“He seemed to enjoy everything he was involved with,” Gooding said.
Gooding described Joshua as caring, very responsible, and as a person with a high level of integrity.

Chaska's Rex Cinema offering Spanish films

Moviegoers expecting to catch a late showing of “Hancock” in Chaska earlier this week may have been surprised to hear Will Smith’s character speaking Spanish throughout the movie. It was no fluke.
Hancock is just one of seven movies the Rex Cinema is showing this fall in an attempt to capture a slice of the local Hispanic movie-going population.

Last Sunday, Tom Steward found out Todd Palin was coming to northern Minnesota. He didn’t know all the details, but it didn’t matter. His job was simply to get the word out to media across the state.
“You can’t know everything all the time. I don’t pretend to,” said the veteran television newsman and more recent political spokesman. “My main job is to try to get media what they need, when they need it, or even before they need it. I try to be responsive to them because I’ve been in their shoes. I know it really helps and makes a difference.”
